At Walker, our mission is to build a sustainable future together. Within the Aggregates division, one of the ways we fulfill this mission is by taking a mindful approach to rehabilitating our many quarries and pits across Ontario.

Walker has been operating aggregate sites for over 130 years. With many years of experience across Ontario, we are proud of the relationships built within the communities in which we operate.

Walker is a leader in workplace safety and takes every measure to keep all employees and the communities we operate in safe.

Communities often ask us “What’s involved in operating a gravel pit or quarry?” While the day to day can be easily seen with a quick visit to the site, what isn’t obvious are the moving parts in the background.

It’s been a challenging year. The impact of COVID-19 on individuals, business and communities has been paramount and we have all been working hard to navigate the changing times.

After over 130 years in business Walker has a new look. The company, which started out as a single cut stone quarry back in 1887, has grown and diversified well beyond its humble beginnings.

In July 2019 Walker Industries Holdings Ltd. acquired Harold Sutherland Construction Ltd., a company which operates more than ten pits and five quarries in Grey and Bruce counties.
